ISO 14001 Environmental Management System for Automotive

Project Summary

More and more companies are looking to their suppliers to comply with the requirements of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System standard. Even if not a current requirement by the company's customers, ISO 14001 is still worth implementing to improve the company's overall effectiveness.

ISO 14001 is an environmental management system standard, which, like ISO 9000, has a series of non-prescriptive requirements, which are to be implemented by a company to meet the way the company, operates. ISO 14001 is concerned with the environment and includes the following six major areas.

  • General requirements (To establish and maintain an environmental management system):
  • Environmental policy
  • Planning
  • Implementation and operation
  • Checking and corrective action
  • Management review.

Who should attend

Managers, supervisors, quality mangers, engineering management, personnel working in areas where environmental hazards should be managed.

Deliverables

If the company is currently compliant and/or registered to ISO 9000, QS-9000 OR ISO/TS 16949, attendees will find that you have a solid structure in place to help you in the documentation and implementation of a system, which meets the requirements of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. You must broaden the company's system from quality management to now include an environmental focus.

If not, we will help you establish such a structure to meet ISO 14001 requirements and allow you to expand to other standards if and when appropriate.

Prerequisites

None

Program Length

As required, usually 4 to 6 months.
