SPC - I, Statistical Process Control - I, MSA, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and - Validating the Production Trial Run

Module Summary

QS-9000 and ISO/TS 16949 requires a statistical analysis of the measuring system and the production process prior to start of production. This course explains the approved methods and provides hands-on experience in using them. See also SPC II -Continuous Improvement.

Who Should Attend

Personnel involved with validating production processes for PPAP, including engineers, supervisors, inspectors, and operators.

Deliverables

Attendees will be able to:

  • Evaluate measurement systems using the popular "manual calculation" methods known as the short form and long form;
  • Use the recommended computer method called ANOVA (available on Excel); and check measurement system stability with control charts.

Attendees will also be able to document and explain:

  • Process capability with control charts
  • Process performance with histograms and
  • Visualize the meaning of capability indices such as Ppk.
