FMEA - Failure Mode and Effects Analysis

Summary:

FMEA is a proven method to collect and organize people's process and design knowledge so they can help anticipate future design or process failures, evaluating risk, and taking preventive action. This module provides guidelines and hands-on experience using FMEA.

Who Should Participate:

Skilled trade and professional people with knowledge that are working to improve a process(es) or product design(s).

Deliverables:

Attendees shall be able to:

  • Work with a team to brainstorm chains of cause and effect
  • Document controls, risk ratings, and priorities

Each participant receives:

  • Plan recommended actions.
  • Copy of presentation materials.
  • Copy of FMEA manual.

Team exercises are segmented so everyone will have at least one opportunity to facilitate.
