Blueprint Reading, Advanced

Summary

Many people can read a front, top, and side view on a print and can work with dimensions and tolerances. This module is designed for people who have mastered these basics, but who have jobs requiring more in-depth skills. Attendees should bring interesting or challenging drawings for class discussion.

  • Explain sections
  • Explain auxiliary views
  • Explain grid lines
  • Read surface finish call outs
  • Recognize common ways to display and specify trends
  • Recognize different types of fasteners on drawings
  • Refer to gear terms and definitions
  • Discuss machine terms and hole terminology
  • Discuss geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols

Attendees shall receive an application manual with extensive worksheets. The manual includes both basic and advanced topics

Prerequisite:

Blueprint Reading Basics or equivalent experience
