DFA - Design for Assembly, Design for Maintainability (Serviceability), Design for Manufacturing

Module Summary

This course presents The Design Quality Index (DQI) method, originated at GM in 1980. Initially used as a quality predictor, it spread to a number of industries and there are versions to measure assembly time, manufacturability, and serviceability (maintainability). (The instructor is the author of this technique.) Optionally we will also cover the Boothroyd-Dewhurst method.

The course is recommended for product and process engineers, and anyone who interfaces with these groups and might participate in a multi-disciplinary DFA team.
