Managing Diversity

Summary:

The purpose of this workshop is to help managers and leaders to fulfill their roles beyond that of valuing diversity. This segment is an optional add-on to the Valuing Diversity Workshop for those that have authority and responsibility for selection and work of their employees. Diversity is dependent on bias-free infrastructures; which are controlled by managers.

Who Should Attend:

Supervisors, managers, and leaders at all levels

Deliverables:

After completing this program participants will be able to:

  • Understand how managing diversity is different from traditional management
  • Identify the key factors in managing diversity
  • Use the Manager Employee Interview Questions to implement The Platinum Rule with employees
  • Assess their own skills in managing diversity
  • Create solutions to difficult diversity situations in the workplace
  • Create an action plan for managing diversity

None

Program Length:

Two-hour workshop (ideally following the Valuing Diversity workshop) (CERFDS)
