Interviewing Skills: Beyond Intuition

Summary:

Much of employee turnover occurs because the right people were not hired for the jobs they filled, greatly adding to unnecessary costs to the company. Managers will be able to select the most qualified candidates for employment based on objective data and a structured interview process. No more hiring on a "gut feeling" or hopes that the selected candidate will work out.

Who Should Attend:

Supervisors, managers, and anyone responsible for making hiring decisions

Deliverables:

After completing this program participants will be able to:

  • Write behavioral and situational interview questions for a particular job
  • Conduct effective structured interviews from opening through close
  • Communicate professionally (active listening, using appropriate probes and providing relevant information to the job candidate)
  • Avoid potentially illegal questions
  • Effectively evaluate candidates by reviewing the data collected
  • Manage challenging interview situations
  • Effectively utilize a team approach for interviewing and evaluating candidates
