Performance Management: More than an Annual Appraisal

Summary:

Often performance management is seen as providing an annual performance

appraisal, generally with one-way communication from the supervisor and often with surprises and angry responses from the employee. This workshop will help supervisors and managers manage the work performance of their employees through a process of collaborative goal setting, feedback, periodic reviews, rewards and development plans. The workshop can be customized to include the process and forms utilized by the customer.

Who Should Attend:

Supervisors, managers, and anyone responsible for the work performance of others.

Deliverables:

After completing this program participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the ingredients for an effective performance management system
  • Write performance goals that are clear, measurable, and tied to the Company's business goals
  • Evaluate performance against the goals
  • Provide constructive and effective feedback to employees
  • Counsel employees and create a development plan to improve performance
  • Conduct an effective performance appraisal meeting
  • Document performance on a formal appraisal
  • Develop an action plan that will address the needs of current employees
