Negotiation Skills

Summary:

Participants will be able to assess themselves as a negotiator, learn 8stages in the negotiation process, and 21 tactics and when to use each tactic. The two-hour (optional) class, held 4-6 weeks after the workshop, is designed to evaluate progress in utilizing skills learned in class, to assess what worked well and what didn't, and to strengthen skills. It is also designed to look at barriers to success and what can be done to overcome them.

Deliverables:

After completing this program participants will be able to:

  • Assess oneself on the top ten characteristics of a good negotiator
  • Begin utilizing four forces important in influencing the outcome of negotiation:
  • Identify eight stages of negotiation
  • Discover ways to reach Win-Win outcomes
  • Recognize 21 different tactics and when it is most appropriate to use each of them:
  • Recognize how to negotiate with different personality types
