Process Redesign Simulation

Summary:

Paper Planes is a simulation that can be used in several performance improvement contexts, including team building, process improvement, responding to rapid change, quality issues, paradigm shifts, and customer service issues. The simulation uses a process that engages participants in work redesign. Participants explore barriers to communication, sharing information, and teamwork within an experiential context. Paper Planes can be used as a "stand alone" program or embedded in a larger training program.

Who Should Attend:

Preferably employees from the same organization

Deliverables:

After completing this program participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the problems inherent in departmentalized work
  • Identify the elements necessary for successful work redesign and improved processes
  • Encourage participatory decision-making to improve commitment and morale
  • Distinguish the critical connections among systems, teamwork, total quality, and customer focus
