Train-the-Trainer

Summary:

It is not unusual for subject matter experts to have to train others in the organization. However, they have not had the benefit of learning how to conduct a training needs assessment, design, facilitate, or evaluate a training program. This workshop will provide them with the tools and skills to train others in a professional manner.

Who Should Attend:

Any employee responsible for providing training programs for others in the organization

Deliverables:

After completing this program participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the difference between training and a Power Point presentation
  • Identify the needs of the adult learner, in general, and the specific target audience
  • Develop behavioral objectives
  • Select, create, and use a variety of media and activities to enhance the learning experience
  • Assess personal facilitation strengths, skills, and delivery style
  • Apply tips in the preparation and delivery of an effective training program
  • Identify methods of using audio-visual aids with skill and confidence
  • Engage participants during the training session to facilitate learning
  • Manage difficult participant behaviors
  • Demonstrate skills learned in session (two day format only)

None

Program Length:

One or two-day workshop (latter provides for application, practice, and feedback) (CERFDS)
