The Project Technologies Group - Quick Changeover Workshop


Summary	The current state machine set-up, or changeover, is videotaped. The tape is analyzed by the team, and used to design a future state with reduced changeover and increased machine up time.
Who Should Participate	8-12 shop floor personnel, including machine operators and set up personnel.
Deliverables	Participants will learn: Identify adjustments that are waste Preset tooling and gauging before setup Transfer internal to external steps Write standardized work Develop procedures to examine, repair and store tools and gages Use lifting devices, rollers and other mechanical devices to speed setup Use positive stop devices to reduce adjustments Locate prints, specs, and work instruction To make standardized changeover instruction packets and learn how to schedule changeovers to minimize internal steps Simplify record keeping for training and tracking
