Six Sigma Executive Overview

Module Summary

Before management can decide whether Six Sigma is right for their company, they will need to know something about how Six Sigma works and in which ways it is similar, or different, from what the company is doing now. This overview presents:

  1. What is Six Sigma?
  2. How is it different?
  3. How is it deployed?
  4. Commitment (or not),
  5. Selection of champions.

Deliverables

Attendees will be able to:

  • Describes Six Sigma as a business strategy, including structure, reward system, goals, training, and jargon.
  • Describe the roles of "champions," "master black belts," "black belts," and "greenbelts."
  • Decide, as a group, whether to commit and, if appropriate, select the company's "champions."

Participants in the overview will be provided with:

  • A copy of presentation materials
  • A copy of Implementing Six Sigma by Breyfogle
