Six Sigma "Black Belt" Training - Improve (Module 3)

Module Summary

This course will continue the Six Sigma application process, which is called "DMAIC" - Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. Specific skills will be developed and practiced for improving Six Sigma projects. Key items covered include:

  • Variation and Quality
  • Comparing Experimental Outcomes
  • Factorial Designs
  • Screening Designs
  • Planning and Conducting an Experiment
  • Response Surface Methodology.

Deliverables

Attendees will be able to:

  • Design experiments involving multiple factors that vary simultaneously, and successfully analyze the data to identify the most robust way to achieve the desired result
  • Develop a "math model" that describes the output in terms of the active input factors.
  • Use factors with more than two levels, and
  • Work with response surface plots.

  • A copy of Understanding Industrial Designed Experiments,
    by Schmidt and Launsby
